Do you find other odd parallels between 1964 and the Beatles?

“We do. John Lennon was a quick-witted, acerbic guy, and Mark ― who plays our John ― is that kind of guy. Paul McCartney was sort of a schmoozer, making contacts, developing friendships ― our Gary is that way. George was the quiet one. I’m something of the quiet one.

“And they say Ringo was the cuddly one. I don’t know if that applies so much to the different Ringos we’ve had.”

How long will you keep it up?

“The answer to that is the answer Gary gave his dad. His dad asked, him, ‘How long are you going to do this?’ And Gary said, ‘Until they stop coming.’ We are not anywhere close to the age the Beatles were. I’m sure many people comment, ‘They’re starting to look a little old to be doing this,’ but people are still coming. Just being a musician keeps you young at heart.”
